With online gambling slowly trickling back into US states it’s opened up an entire new industry and online casinos are scrambling to stay ahead of the game. This month it was announced that the US arm of William Hill Casino has appointed a new marketing lead as Sharon Otterman is appointed as the firm’s new Chief Marketing Officer.

While William Hill is a UK based operator of bookmakers, online casinos and online bingo, the company now has a global outlook. The brand has been operating for upwards of eight decades and know a thing or two about the industry.
Sharon Otterman was welcomed into the Las Vegas office this week at a time of massive growth for the company. As a proven leader, William Hill said in a statement that “…we are thrilled that we could pull her away from one of the most high-profile jobs in sports marketing to join William Hill.”
Otterman has vast experience in the industry and is a proven leader. She has more than two decades of experience in developing brands and previously worked for the New York City based sports and entertainment holding company, Madison Square Garden Company. It’s here that since April 2015 Otterman has worked as Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, responsible for planning strategies than enabled growth in the firm’s sports and entertainment businesses.
After online gambling was banned for many years by the US government we’re just seeing the market open up state by state. The high regulation and strict rules mean that brands getting in on the early action need to get things right from the start and William Hill will be hoping Otterman will do just that.
