Following a recent announcement that Sheriff Gaming have been ordered to cease trading immediately by the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC), the company has responded by posting a statement on the news section of their website.
Sheriff’s Chief Executive Officer, Stijn Flapper, says he’s “flappergasted” by the AGCC’s decision to suspend their Category 2 Association Certificate until a hearing takes place in London on 29th October 2013. Mr. Flapper also says that it’s thanks to Sheriff’s parent company – Bubble Group – that the hearing is taking place, and that they’ve repeatedly requested the AGCC give them a chance to formally respond to previous allegations of money laundering, illegal gambling, and drug dealing that were initiated by Dutch authorities earlier this summer.
However, the company’s CEO says Bubble “deeply regrets” Alderney Gambling Control Commission’s decision to temporarily suspend their B2B license until after the hearing has taken place, although he says they will “continue to be fully compliant and abide by any restrictions” imposed on them during the suspension period.
The website statement also reminds readers that the District Attorney wrote to them on 29th August and 6th September 2013, stating that Bubble Group’s activities were “entirely legal”. It closes by thanking people for their support, and says “it gives us the strength to go on.”
