Rendezvous Casino Southend Targeted with Fraud

27 Feb 2013

Bo Bond, a 25 year old receptionist previously working for the Rendezvous Casino in Southend has appeared at Basildon Crown Court accused of fraudulently stealing loyalty points worth £8500 with the help of various family members.

Also appearing in court were her father, mother and sister who faced one charge each of fraud by false representation, although her step-mother has managed to escape the charge.

The Rendezvous Casino provides a popular loyalty points scheme for its members which Bond managed to abuse. She used her co-workers computers to move points to her relatives. Not only did they use these to buy food at different casinos within the London Clubs International group but they also paid for larger items such as iPods and TVs. After an audit at the casino the fraud was eventually discovered, and an investigation using CCTV cameras revealed Bond to be the culprit as it showed her accessing other employee’s computers at the relevant times.

Her sister and mother both received a 2 year conditional discharge, with her sister also having to pay compensation of £200. Reports are being carried out at the moment before Bond and her father return to court on 14th March where they will face sentencing.
