Hugh Hefner’s famous playmates are coming to computer screens near you as online casino software supplier launches the Playboy Live Dealer product.
The studio will work similarly to how most other online live casinos operate with the exception of the Playboy branding and the bunnies stepping in as dealers.
Having been slightly left behind in terms of live dealer products, this move represents a renewed effort for Microgaming to succeed in this area. While the company’s full suite of download casino games remains second to none, competitors such as Evolution Gaming and Playtech has taken the early lead in terms of live casino market share.
A press release announcing the launch of the Playboy Live Dealer Studio explained that the intention is to recreate the atmosphere of the Playboy Club – which recently reopened in London 30 years after its doors were last opened.
In addition to the live dealer studio, Microgaming revealed that their deal with Playboy also meant that they could create casino games and video slots using the Playboy brand.
Talking about the deal, Microgaming’s CEO Roger Raatgever described the deal as a ‘market first’ and added that it will be a unique offering for online casino players. We are yet to see if the larger operators such as 32Red, Ladbrokes and Spin Palace will add the new studio to their offering.
