Jackpotjoy Makes a Splash in London

12 Dec 2012

Londoners on their way to work, including a member of the Jackpot.co.uk team, were held up yesterday as Tower Bridge was opened to let a giant 50 foot duck pass through.

The duck was put there by online casino operator Jackpotjoy in celebration of their new project Facebook FUNdation which will see the company hand out cash for daft ideas all in the pursuit of fun.

The duck measured 50 feet high and 60 feet wide and made its way along the river Thames arriving at Tower Bridge at 10am on December 11. It had taken more than 800 hours to create and took in sights such as Canary Wharf, the O2 Dome, the Gherkin and the Shard on its travels.

Barbara Windsor, often seen in Jackpotjoy adverts, was also on hand to christen the duck in the traditional way with a bottle of champagne. In her role as patron of the FUNdation campaign, Windsor also had a few words to say about the project.

“We now want people to send us their own entries of what daft and wacky things they’d like to do and we’ll provide funding for the best ones to become a reality,” she said.
