18 Proves Unlucky for £1 Million Bet Man

6 Dec 2012

Competition winner Adam King was just two numbers out when he placed a £1 million bet on a single spin of roulette.

King, from Bromley, had been selected to place the bet after taking part in Roller Casino’s £1 Million Bet competition.

In a video available on Shortlist magazine’s website, TV presenter George Lamb introduced King and confirmed the rules of the bet. King, who was visibly nervous, chose the number 18 and explained his choice of number.

He said: “It’s a combination of numbers from family birthdays and the first one that I thought of.”

But King had to watch on as the ball came to rest on 20 and his chance to win £1 million had gone. Despite the loss, King was still awarded with an iPad as well as a share of £10,000.

Reflecting on the spin, King said: “It’s been a brilliant experience and I’d like to thank everybody at Roller Casino and Shortlist.”

The competition had been running in order to celebrate the launch of Roller Casino – a native iPad and iPhone mobile casino that can be bought in the app store. Roller Casino has been created and is being run by the special projects team at Paddy Power.
