Three fans chucked out from tennis match for betting in stands
Three spectators were kicked out of a women’s tennis match in Antwerp, Belgium, after they were discovered betting on the on-going match from their laptops.
"Three spectators were removed. The two Russians and one German were holding a laptop and logged on to a gambling Web site and were gambling on ongoing matches,” said Katia Stroobants, spokeswoman for the Proximus Diamond Games.
The WTA, along with the Association of Tennis Professional’s (ATP), are taking a tough stance on gambling within the sport following numerous cases of corruption.
The men were asked to leave the stadium or handover the laptops. They chose the former.
