John McCain evasive over online casinos

Speaking to the Las Vegas Review Journal. American presidential candidate John McCain was evasive over the issue of online gambling. Initially avoiding the topic by claiming it was more the concern of fellow Republican Jon Kyl, who backed the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act of 2006, the presidential candidate claimed that he had not been involved in the debate surrounding online casinos lately.

McCain did recognise, however, that internet gambling was not responsible for the troubles faced by the Las Vegas-based gaming industry, and voiced concerns regarding internet casinos based in foreign countries, although did not comment on the laws currently prohibiting them from operating within the United States.
