Zynga is fighting back from recent poor share performance and have got together with bwin.Party Digital Entertainment, to launch 2 casino and poker style sites.
The new sites, ZyngaPlusPoker and ZyngaPlusCasino, have been launched this week and offer real money gambling, though will hopefully expand to Facebook and mobile gaming. These versions are expected to be released later this year if the real money versions prove a success to continue Zynga’s success in the social gaming world. They have also hinted a move into European markets with the US a longer term plan and have already applied to Nevada and their Gaming Control Board for a licence, as this is the state leading the race to legalise online gaming in the US.
Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment are based in Gibraltar and are behind brands including bwin and Party Casino, so they have a wealth of experience to share. Exact details of the agreement have not been disclosed but as bwin hold the UK licence they are expected to get the largest share of the revenue.
Zynga is known to many people who use Facebook, as they are the people behind such games as CityVille and FarmVille. Once hugely popular with people who loved playing games on the largest social network in the world, the company saw a down-turn in their fortunes last year, partly caused by the growing number of people who now use their mobile phones to play games with.
