The official Guinness World Record for the largest online slots jackpot has been broken following a win of €17.8 million.
The win came on the aptly-named Mega Fortune slot yesterday (Sunday 20 January) and went to a middle-aged Finnish online casino player.
The win came at Paf, a Finnish online bookmaker and online casino operator, and amounts to a grand total of €17,861,813, just less than £15 million at current exchange rates.
The win broke the previous record for the largest ever online slots jackpot which was €11,736,375 or £10,272,600. Coincidentally, that win also came on the Mega Fortune slot but at another online casino.
Net Entertainment is the creator of the Mega Fortune slot which has provided both jackpots and this morning Per Eriksson, CEO of the Swedish software supplier, offered his congratulations to the Finnish player. He also added that the casino game developer wasn’t done there by saying: “[we] hope to turn many more players into millionaires in the future”.
Details of the winner are pretty shady at the moment with the only description available being that he is a ‘middle-aged man from Helsinki, Finland’. More details are sure to follow as slots players look to determine how they could create a similar win of their own.
