In May 2015 Spin Genie came under scrutiny by the ASA following one complaint about their television marketing campaign featuring Spin the dog.
The complainant, and then the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), felt that he held appeal to children and the commercial was banned.
It seems that Spin Genie have been working hard since the ban because at the beginning of September they announced that there is a new face of the brand, and this time it isn’t a canine cartoon character.
When it comes to making sure your brand is recognised, you need great advertising and the team at Gaming Realms have a whole wealth of experience in that area. After all, they are the people who made Foxy Bingo the household name it is today.
Will they achieve the same with Louie Spence as the face of Spin Genie? Only time will tell. Of course, Louie Spence isn’t the first ‘celebrity’ to front an advertising campaign for an online casino. Read our article on other celebrities who have boosted the popularity of online casinos.
Louie Spence is best known for the TV show Pineapple Dance Studios but has also been a judge on Dancing On Ice. He was in the Celebrity Big Brother House in 2013 but was evicted two days before the live final.
Most recently he was on the 2015 second series of The Jump but was eliminated on the second day.
A quick look on youTube and we found a behind the scenes look at the making of the new Spin Genie commercial.
In it we see Spence dressed as a genie and holding a lamp, no surprises there considering the brand name.

Slingo, another brand from Gaming Realms, is also airing a new commercial currently and although there aren’t any cartoon dogs, the advert does feature a canine cutie sporting a harness emblazoned with the brand name.
