Mobile gaming operator Probability has been granted a ten-year licence allowing it to deliver remote gambling services to Italian residents.
The licence covers what Probability says is one of the continent’s largest potential markets, while the firm aims to open up new avenues to betting in the area through the use of mobile and online technologies.
Charles Cohen, the CEO adds that Probability will be bringing a complete white-label gaming platform to Italy, complementing existing B2B operations there that were created through the acquisition of Playyoo.
“Our expertise in mobile gambling is tailor-made for Italy,” he says, adding that 30% of adults in the country already own a smartphone.
Italy also holds promise for the company’s online and mobile slots, as these already perform well in the UK, and slots are the most prevalent form of gambling in Italy.
“We feel we are in the right place, at the right time, with the right offering,” Mr Cohen concludes.
White-label services account for around a fifth of Probability’s revenues in the UK, and consist of a managed gambling platform which the non-gambling partner brand promotes and Probability operates and maintains.
In addition to offering this directly to Italian partners, the company reports that several of its existing UK customers have expressed an interest in extending their own coverage into the Italian market.
