In 1986 the Highlander film starring Christopher Lambert as Connor MacLeod was launched and took $12.9 million at the box office! In December 2017 Microgaming are set to launch a slot version of the blockbuster.
The game is set to feature five reels and an impressive 243 ways to win. It will be accessible on all devices.
As the game is not expected to launch until 6th December we have only had a sneak peek of what it has to offer the slot connoisseur thanks to a trailer released by Microgaming.
You can view it by clicking the image below:
On the reels you will find the usual card deck symbols (10 through to A) and these are joined by a number of characters from the actual film.
There is Connor’s wife Heather, Brenda Wyatt, the Kurgan (another immortal and main antagonist of Connor MacLeod) and two Connor symbols (the old and the new).
The backdrop of the slot is the Scottish highlands and a number of storm clouds whilst the music playing in the background has a distinct retro heavy rock feel to it.
If we are honest, we were expecting more in the bonus features department from this game but they are limited to the free spins and the scatter feature.
Get two of the scatter symbols on the reels and they turn into wilds. This can prove to be quite lucrative but isn’t really very interactive.
When you spin in three of more of the scatter symbols you are awarded 10 free spins.
As lightening hits the reels, a random number of symbols become wild whilst in the free spin mode.
The bonus features aren’t the most impressive we have seen on slots from Microgaming and we’re not champing at the bit for the launch of this game.
That said, we will reserve full judgement until we can spin the reels for ourselves at a popular online casino like 32Red Casino.
