The latest title to be launched by the Microgaming camp is called Dragonz and we popped along to spin the reels at 32Red Casino on the day of launch.
It’s a five reel slot with 243 paylines and you can spin the reels from just 40p on your desktop or mobile device.
Dragonz has a feel of How To Train Your Dragon about it, but whether that’s intentional or not, we don’t know.
The reels are filled with the usual 9 through to A symbols and joined by the four main dragon characters (Flint, Switch, Gobble and Frost), There are also wilds and of course, Scatters which activate the bonus rounds.
Three or more scatters start the free spins but until you have activated this bonus eleven times, the dragon that is awarded is random. Following the 12th activation, you are able to make the choice of dragon.
The bonus options are plentiful on Dragonz with the main characters offering their own bonuses when activated.
Flint (the red dragon)
You’ll get 10 free spins with flaming wilds. Flint can shoot wilds onto the reels and each time he shoots flames, the number of wilds increases.
Switch (the purple dragon)
With Switch you will get 10 free spins that have stashed wilds. Switch stores the non-winning wilds when in play and when three or more have been collected, they are randomly added to the reels to guarantee a win.
Frost (the blue dragon)
Frost boast frosty wilds on his 10 free spins and he will freeze them in place until they help to create a win. The free spins will continue until there are no frozen wilds on the reels.
Gobble (the green dragon)
When the 10 free spins are activated for Gobble, he can spit wilds on the reels randomly. All winning wilds are held until no more wins can be created.
If a wild lands on reel three and it doesn’t contribute to any wins, extra wilds are distributed across the reels for a guaranteed win.
We enjoyed the time spinning the reels of the Dragonz slot and the random wild certainly adds an extra level of interest.
We’re looking forward to the player choice of free spins but have to activate them a few more times first!
It’s certainly an improvement on recent releases from Microgaming!
