TRUSTe specialises in online security, providing privacy solutions to channels ranging from email marketing to advertising, and from mobile devices to cloud computing models.
Meanwhile, Dragonplay is a forerunner in the Android social gaming market, with more than 30 million downloads of its games so far.
Among them are titles such as Dragonplay Poker, Farm Casino and Slot City and the firm’s vision is to reach 1.5 million active users per day via mobile apps and Facebook, with 4.5 million monthly users.
Certification by TRUSTe, with Center Space also supervising the random number generator used in Dragonplay games, helps those users to know that the outcome of the company’s games of chance is truly random.
The TRUSTe seal of approval is already in place following the announcement, and Dragonplay founder and CEO Sharon Tal says the agreement sets “a new standard” for fair play and privacy protection in social gaming.
Dragonplay’s future development of real-money social games received a boost earlier in 2012, when Accel Partners – who also invest in Angry Birds makers Rovio – put $14 million (£9 million) in funding into the firm.
