It appears that all those Orange mobile adverts were wrong all along, the future isn’t orange, the future is mobile!

Further proof of this has come courtesy of William Hill, one of the UK’s largest bookmaking and gambling companies, which has announced the launch of its interactive iPad gambling app. It’s been created to allow users to bet on football matches in the UK as well as from around the world and Irish based horse racing.

The new iPad app from William Hill will allow users to place bets on over 1,000 football matches worldwide and the app has been developed specifically to work with the iPad. The brand saw their iPhone app gain massive popularity with over 500,000 downloads in the last ten months. It’s also said that 30% of all online betting takes place via the in-app option at William Hill, with around 2,500 bets being placed every single minute.

Speaking to the press the director of the company, William Reutter explained that many customers have taken to using their betting service as a “second screen solution” when watching sports at home as well as out and about. The company are also hoping that their app will have been a huge hit over the festive period when people have more down time to enjoy a flutter or two.

In the future there is hope that places bets via smartphone and tablet applications will become the most popular means, allowing users to bet wherever they may be. While this app is focused on sports betting, as has been the case over the years we expect a similar William Hill Casino iPad app to not be that far behind.
