While not necessarily being the most drawn out online gambling deal that we’ve seen, Ladbrokes proposed takeover of Sporting bet has been going on for some time now.

Now news has appeared that confirms that a decision must be made next month as to whether the deal will go ahead or not. The decision is likely to be made by Ladbrokes as Sportingbet have already shown their intent by attempting to sell off their Turkish operations.

Their reason for doing so was that these companies operated in an unregulated market and Ladbrokes had announced their desire to only work within regulated areas. Ladbrokes are thought to be holding on until these companies can be sold. However, if this doesn’t happen in the near future then Ladbrokes may be forced to gamble on it happening as a term of the current agreement states that Ladbrokes have to announce their intentions before 5pm on October 17.

Should the acquisition take place then it will be the latest in a whole line of changes that have occurred at the company. Ladbrokes have seen personnel, strategy and structure changes which are designed to allow for them to target all of their products at each customer.
