PartyCasino, operated by bwin.party and Betfair have had fairly tough times of it this year. However earlier this month it looked as if things may be about to get better for them as news of online gambling in a German state appeared.

Unfortunately for the two, this news was a false dawn as the German Federal Court of Justice has ruled that the ban on online gambling in the country is fair. As a result, no operators will be able to enter the country and operate legally, as had been hoped.

This means that Betfair and bwin.party, who were hoping to capitalise on the regulation of online gambling in Germany, will not be able to offer their products to German players.

This news has not been good for their share prices. While the original news caused prices to begin on an upward trend, the realisation that Germany is a no go area will surely hit shareholders hard.

As well as being bad news for the two companies, it’s also bad news for German online gamblers who will be unable to sample the delights of Betfair Casino and PartyCasino.
