Paddy Power Gets in on Riot Action with Novelty Bets
The title of this blog may be a bit misleading, as we’re not for one minute suggesting that Paddy Power or any of their employees were involved in the riots. However, Paddy Power has touched on the recent disturbances in its own special way, by offering some riot themed novelty bets. The first of these is who will be the next Met Police Commissioner. While perhaps being a market more suited to those who know a thing or two about Scotland Yard, there are a few tasty bets available to those interested.
Leading the way is Stephen House who is priced at 1/2. Next up is Bernard Hogan-Howe who comes in at 11/4 and is followed by Sir Hugh Order and Tim Godwin at 6/1 and 8/1 respectively.
With the riots having caused considerable unrest within London, the Irish bookmaker has also turned its attention to who the next Mayor of London will be. There are only two candidates, which makes the odds fairly short, but it may still provide some extra interest in the Mayoral race. The two candidates are Boris Johnson who is priced at 4/7 and Ken Livingstone who is priced at 5/4.
So there we have it, Paddy Power managing to put a silver lining on the darkest of clouds!
