To be completely honest, Coral has never really been known as a particularly cutting edge online casino. However, this looks set to change following today’s news that Coral casino’s operators Gala Coral have signed a 10-year deal with Playtech.

The new deal means that Playtech will provide software platforms for all of the Gala Coral online products including Coral casino. Coral casino, who currently feature Chartwell casino software as well as Cryptologic slots, will be also be able to call upon Playtech’s other expertise in the area of marketing and other departments. This deal is one of Playtech’s biggest and is expected to take effect in the first half on next year.

Despite not being contractually obliged to, it is understood that Playtech informed their joint venture partners William Hill of the deal and received a positive response. It’s believed that following a reworking of terms between the two, Playtech are free to make software agreements with other operators but not joint ventures.

No comment has been made by Playtech or Gala Coral regarding the deal.
